Part of Guampedia's Women in Guam History commemorative poster series. All posters in this series consist of an image of the individual being recognized, along with a brief biography with notable accomplishments. Poster design by Odyessa San Nicolas.

Maria Anderson Roberto (1880-19??) was a CHamoru woman who had been employed as a chaperone for the Native Nurses program on Guam from 1914 to 1924 during the early US naval administration of the island. Her role was crucial for the success of the program and the training of young CHamoru women as nurses for the naval hospital. She later contracted Hansen's disease and was sent to the leper colony in Culion, Philippines, where she passed away.
