About the Author
Dr. Katherine Bordallo Aguon, prominent educator and author, former Senator and Vice-Speaker of the Guam Legislature, has continuously been lauded for her invaluable contributions to education and for her relentless commitment to write and publish CHamoru language and culture books. Born and educated in Guam, Dr. Aguon earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Guam, and holds a Master's in education from the University of San Francisco and a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley. In all her writings and publications, Dr. Aguon's task has been to build a positive self-image for the CHamoru people, encourage cultural values, and to instill in her writings a strong appreciation and respect for one's heritage.
