About the authors
Helen Claveria deGuzman has been an educator for 44 years, specializing in literacy with an emphasis in the elementary grades. She has taught in the Guam Public School System and the Department of Defense Education Activity System. Her love for children’s books inspired her to write this book, both in English and Chamorro, about our island culture and tradition.
Frances Diaz McDonald has been an educator for 37 years and has taught in the Guam Public School System and Department of Defense Education Activity System. She is currently a reading specialist at CDR William C. McCool Elementary/ Middle School. McDonald has always wanted to write a bilingual children’s book in English and Chamorro to reflect her passion for literacy and the Chamorro culture.
