Guampedia does not share personal e-mail addresses or information to ANY third party obtained either through e-mail inquiries, surveys or any online orders. All information is kept private for the Guampedia Gift Shop's use only. Guampedia will also NOT send you any "junk" e-mail or messages that do not relate to the purpose of you original communication with us.
Your Credit Card Information
In addition, Guampedia will protect the security and validity of your credit card transactions with us.
The Guampedia Gift Shop utilizes Shopify, an e-commerce platform developed primarily for building and managing online stores. With Shopify, transactions are secure and meet the highest standards of e-commerce security. You may also make secure purchases using PayPal.

The Guampedia Gift Shop is operated and managed by the Guampedia Foundation, Inc. We are located at House #3 Deans Circle, University of Guam, in Mangilao, Guam. We are an independent nonprofit organization (incorporated on Guam in 2008) and an affiliate of the Richard F. Taitano Micronesian Area Research Center (MARC) at the University of Guam. We manage Guampedia.com, an educational website that provides resources and information about the unique history, culture and people of Guam, Mariana Islands.
Personal information collected
The Guampedia Gift Shop recognizes the need for customers to control the use and management of personal information that can be used to identify or contact an individual. This includes first and last names, a physical address, an e-mail address, an identification number or phone number. If you are visiting our site to browse merchandise or find information about us or our products, you do not need to provide any personal information. If you decide to make a purchase, however, we do collect this information so that we may be able to provide you with the product or service you requested, and so we may contact you with any information regarding your order.
Automatic information collected
The Guampedia Gift Shop website makes use of various technologies to collect information about types and versions of internet browsers used when accessing our website. This information, and information about internet IP addresses, as well as the date and time web pages are visited is stored in various security and traffic logs. Unless we are tracking a technical problem or issue, or we suspect either fraudulent behavior or illegal conduct, we do not trace specific user sessions.
Use of personal information
The Guampedia Gift Shop uses personal information provided by you so that we can service your order. Also, please note that we may need to transfer that information to our agents, vendors or employees of our service providers. For example, we may need to provide your information to a book author who will ship a product directly to you. We will only transfer the information to the extent necessary to provide the requested information, service, or product to you. We will not sell or trade your information to unrelated third parties.
Any information you provide to us as a customer may be updated or changed. You may contact us directly to change your phone number, physical address or e-mail address information.
Protection of children
The Guampedia Gift Shop does not knowingly collect, maintain or use personal information from our website about children under the age of 13. If you are the parent or guardian of a child under thirteen years of age and believe that your child has disclosed personally identifiable information to us, please contact us so that we may remove the child's information.
Confidentiality and security
The Guampedia Gift Shop takes reasonable steps to ensure that your information is protected. We use industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption when collecting your personal information. Our website is hosted in a data center which makes use of multiple levels of redundant firewalls and database encryption to protect information. Internally, we limit access to your information to those employees or agents who we believe have reasonable need to use the information to provide products or services to you or to perform their jobs.
When you place an order on our website, we will send you an e-mail notification. When your order status changes, you may also receive notifications via e-mail. These notifications are considered part of our service and may not be disabled. We will send the e-mail, but cannot guarantee delivery. You are responsible for providing a valid e-mail address and for updating it when your address changes. The Guampedia Gift Shop may, depending on the importance or urgency of the notification, choose to contact you via telephone or postal mail. When doing so we will use the phone number and/or address associated with your account or transaction.
