Mariana Leon Guerrero Lujan (1914-2006) was one of a cadre of dedicated educators who began teaching during the United States Naval Era. She was a teacher for more than 40 years, but was also involved in many civic organizations around the island. She was also one of the first woman elected to political office, serving as the representative for Yona in the Guam Congress in the late 1940s.
