ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Norbert (Bert) Reyes Unpingco is known in Guam and in North Alabama as "Mr. Tourism," having served as the first Managing Director of Alabama Mountain Lakes Association (6 years) and Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) (12 years). During his tenure, he initiated new and innovative ideas that won local and national approval. He was awarded the prestigious national Discover American Award in 1970 for Alabama, and again in 1979 for Guam, U.S.A. Unpingco was also featured in 1978's Who's Who of America. In 2008, he was officially recognized by the GVB, the Guam Economic Development Authority (GEDA) and the 29th Guam Legislature for Lifetime Excellence in Tourism and was dubbed, "Mr. Guam Tourism."
