ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Simeon Palomo's creative journey started during trips to Guam's old Harmon Flea Market. He was fascinated with the many types of plants presented there, especially bonsai. He started growing vegetables in a square foot garden on top of an asphalt parking lot in Tamuning. He eventually added tropical flowers to the square foot garden, followed by orchids. During the weekends, Palomo worked his family's ranch (lancho) in Mongmong, surrounded by a tropical forest. He eventually built a house at the lancho and began to transform the place into a mini tropical, botanical garden. With a knack for creating simple, elegant tropical flower arrangements from plant materials in the backyard, he made pieces that expressed a unique and creative style. He was encouraged to photograph his arrangements which led to this publication that celebrates both his style and passion for all to enjoy.
